Vehicles like a police car, school bus, fire engine or security car need video surveillance
functions. The traditional DVR faces the issues of limited space, temperature issues, and
unstable wireless communication. Another major issue is power management between
system and car battery or engine.
The BOXER AEC-6910, AVR-3000 and VPMS-100/200 are all suitable for this rugged
application. The AVR-3000, a 4-channel Fanless Mobile DVR, is specially designed for vehicle
security and surveillance. AEC-6910 is a barebone system, which offers 1-2 PCI slots for SI
or VAR to integrate its own capture card or graphic card. It passes 1G RMS vibration and
50G shock road test. The VPMS-100/200 power management unit plays as filter to protect
computer to be abnormal shutdown and extend the life of the vehicle battery. The setting
ranges from 1 sec to 4 hours.
